Lunch Clubs

Lunch clubs

The learning opportunities continue throughout lunchtime for our children at Vermont!

The School Council have worked extremely hard to develop our lunch clubs and ensure they suit our needs. Spaces sometimes are limited for the clubs, so our children have the opportunity to sign up to them every two weeks.

Currently, we offer:

The Hive

Sometimes the playground is a little too overwhelming for our children, so the Hive was created just for them; offering a quieter and smaller environment for our children to spend their lunchtimes. Our amazing staff set out a range of activities from puzzles to board games and imaginative play out the back of the classrooms to bubble play in the quad. We set out to develop our children’s play skills as well as their communication and interaction skills.

Football Club

For our football lovers! The children enjoy a structured game of football on our school field overseen by our members of staff Monday - Thursday; our children have a great time developing their skills when working as a team. On a Friday, we have recently introduced a drills and skills session, which replaces our game on that day but allows our children to develop their own football skills and encourages their own personal development.

ICT Club

Our children thoroughly enjoy the ever popular ICT Club - they get to participate in a range of activities from playing on the laptop, competing on Wii Sports to following along to dances on Just Dance. These activities are timetabled throughout the week to help our children know what to expect.

Zola Club

This club is based in Pastoral and our beloved school dog, Zola, is the main attraction here! Our children have a great time spending time with the dog as well as enjoying arts and crafts activities or having some quiet time.

We continue to revisit these clubs in our meetings and they are always a popular topic.

We look forward to seeing what clubs we start up in September.
