Curriculum Overview

At Vermont School, our curriculum is organised into two parts: Lower School and Upper School. On the overview, you will see a forward slash ( / ) between the two. This shows that the same important topics and themes are taught in both Lower and Upper School, with learning designed at the right level to challenge your child and help them progress.

Lower School pupils build strong foundations and explore ideas through rich, hands-on learning. Upper School pupils take these same big themes and deepen them further, thinking critically, solving problems and extending their knowledge so they can achieve at the highest level.

This means all children learn the same “Big Ideas” across the year—Belong, Believe and Achieve—with work that challenges them, matches their stage of learning, and moves them forward. Our curriculum grows with your child, helping them feel confident, included and ready to succeed in the next step of their learning.
