Parent/Carer Forum

What is Southampton Parent Carer Forum?

Southampton Parent Carer Forum is an independent group run by parents and carers, for parents and carers of children and young people (aged 0–25) with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

Their aim is to make sure that the experiences and views of families are heard by the local authority, health services, and education providers, so that services can better reflect the needs of children and young people in Southampton.

SPCF is not part of our school, but we recognise it as a useful source of information, support, and opportunities for families.

What SPCF Offers to Families

  •  Information & Signposting
SPCF shares clear, accessible information about local services, support groups, and SEND-related events.

  • Workshops and Coffee Mornings
They run sessions on topics such as understanding SEND processes, managing transitions, behaviour support, and wellbeing.

  • A Voice for Parents
Parent carers can share their experiences and help shape the way services are developed across Southampton.

  • Community & Peer Support
Connecting with other parents who understand similar experiences can help families feel supported and less isolated.
