The Vermont Pathways

At Vermont School, every pupil follows a curriculum that is carefully designed to meet their individual SEND and educational needs. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and our curriculum reflects these areas to address barriers to learning and enable every child to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Pupils are placed on one of seven curriculum pathways, each tailored to support specific needs while prioritising Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). Our approach is flexible and personalised, allowing pupils to move between pathways as their needs change. This ensures that every learner receives the right balance of support, structure, and challenge.

The pathways include an early years approach, autism support, trauma-informed approaches, Cognition and Learning, SATs preparation, and readiness-to-learn programmes. Together, they form a holistic and integrated framework that equips pupils with the knowledge, skills, and emotional resilience they need for their continued education and life beyond school.
