SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY

It is our school policy that children wear school uniform when attending school or participating in school organised events outside of school hours. We advise that parents label all items of their child's uniform to enable us to find it should it be mislaid.

Aims and Objectives

Our Policy for uniform is based on the notion that school uniform:

  • Promotes a sense of pride in the school;
  • Provides a sense of community and belonging towards the school;
  • Is practical and smart;
  • Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance;
  • Is regarded as suitable wear for school and is considered by parents as good value for money;
  • Is designed with health and safety in mind.

School Uniform providers

Jogging bottoms, polo shirts and jumpers/zip up tops can be purchased from any supermarket or secondhand retailer. However, we ask that parents purchase a set of iron on logos from the school office at a cost of £5 each.

Children are requested to wear the following:

Main Uniform

  • Black/navy blue jogging bottoms or black/navy skirt with the school logo (VS) ironed on the left pocket area
  • Pale blue polo shirt
  • Dark blue jumper/sweatshirt with the logo ironed on at the left hand chest area (NO hoodies please)
  • Navy/black/dark grey shorts
  • Dark, plain, closed toe shoes or trainers

PE Kit

  • Pale Blue T-Shirt/polo shirt (no football tops!)
  • Dark shorts
  • Plain dark tracksuit bottoms for outdoors in the winter
  • Swimming Kit for designated swimming day.

Jewellery

Earrings (except studs) should not be worn for children’s own safety. All earrings should be covered with Micropore tape for PE and games and should be removed by the child for swimming.

Children are asked to respect the school uniform policy and wear their uniform at all times. Failure to do so may result in not being included in school trips.

Hoods and hats in school will not be allowed.
